Whether through an act of God, poor design, defective workmanship, age, or criminal activity, many factors can cause damage to a building. Identifying the cause of a loss is critical to determining what is covered, what must be repaired, and what it will cost. UBS consultants with extensive experience in building systems evaluate the conditions found at the property to provide scientific and factual evidence for insurance carriers and property owners.

Our causation analysis addresses:

Wind and Storm Damage       Hail Damage      Fire and Smoke Damage

Water and Flood Damage       Building Envelope and Roof System Failures       Design Conformance and Quality of Workmanship       Age, Wear, and Deterioration

Our consultants perform field investigation, moisture surveys, and independent laboratory analysis, review construction documents and project records, and verify weather events using preliminary and final data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The findings are compared against the reported date and type of loss, so that the cause, the extent of damage, and the remedies for restoration are supported by documented evidence for any project, no matter the size.
